Fort Wayne IN, November 1, 2016– CNC Industries, Inc. is proud to announce that Samuel Schnurr has joined the company as Director of Engineering.  In this role he is responsible for the operational performance of engineering, and increasing quality and efficiency of the business.

Mr. Schnurr is a data-driven executive with over 30 years of manufacturing expertise in the machine shop environment.  A people-focused leader driving change within organizations through original concepts of “imagineering”, and a reputation for building high performance teams that embrace change.  Mr. Schnurr is a detailed-oriented problem-solver capable of managing multiple programs from concept to fruition.

Background

After graduating from college in 1985 Mr. Schnurr worked for Cessna Aircraft Company before joining ITT in 1988.  At ITT he held a series of increasingly responsible manufacturing engineering positions before being appointed Operations Manager in 2000.  In 2005 Mr. Schnurr was given the additional responsibility of leading the Depot repair business. In 2014 Mr. Schnurr moved to the private equity business arena joining Backland Aerospace, a private equity group with 3 companies specializing in precision machining for domestic and international aerospace, aviation, and defense markets.  Mr. Schnurr was Vice President of Operations at Kessington for 2 1/2 years before joining CNC industries.

Mr. Schnurr earned his Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Technology and Bachelor of Applied Science in Automated Manufacturing Technology at ITT, Technical Institute, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He holds a Value Based Six Sigma Greenbelt from the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering.
